On the Move...
Welcome to our blog about our journey as we build, grow and experience life.
Our family has made several large changes recently. One of those changes was moving from the city to a 25-acre farm. This way of life has been one I've longed for in theory, but the transition has had its share of surprises. The theory of living in the country stems back to those days as a child watching Laura Ingalls Wilder run across the prairie with her braids blowing in the wind. Another piece to that puzzle of living on the land came after college, when I rented an apartment on several acres on the side of a mountain. There’s something about the land that God has put here for us to #build and #grow on that is so beautiful.
For the first half of my life, I hated being still. It made me feel like I wasn’t accomplishing anything. It began with school, sports, hobbies and friends. Then, life started growing and it quickly became, relocating, new jobs, new husband, new child, new car, new house, new church, a second job, another child. You see the pattern. It didn't feel overwhelming as the changes happened, but looking back it was like a snowball gaining weight and speed.
It also reminds me of tree, growing deep and strong with no care in the world. If it gets too top heavy, it will begin to bow and droop under the pressure. Someone has to prune back the extra growth and stimulate the roots. Maybe, they replant the clippings or maybe they are used for something else, but no creation is meant to grow wild without care. Even the cars we drive have to be maintained or they will not last. They will begin to break down and become more of a burden than they can be a help.
All that to say, sometimes we choose the changes in our life and sometimes God makes us slow down and remember what our purpose is and how we can best accomplish it.
The last few years has been that slowing down period and taking note of where we are and where he wants us to be. Not locationally, although that sometimes changes to; but emotionally, physically and spiritually. Are we spending the time we’ve been given on the people and things that matter or are we just being driven along by the constantly moving around us.
I hope you enjoy following us along our journey and all the things we get into as we endeavor to #build and #grow our lives, relationships and pursuits the only way that we can. “Strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man… being rooted and grounded in love.”

This is close to the starting point for the house we are fixing up for this first phase of farm life. We are in a little community called New Edinburg, AR and are transitioning to living our lives indoors to all the things you can do when you have room. We can't wait to share some of them with you.
Let us know where you call home! We'd love to hear from you...
It’s so good to hear a little about where you are now. This past year for us has been one with lots of hurt, healing, learning, slowing down, and growing in Christ. I’m so thankful for His mercy, grace, strength, and comfort. We are looking forward to what God is doing and striving to make every day count for Christ. 💕 - Trisha Endicott Bookout
