A Million Tunes
"Every night I lie in bed The brightest colors fill my head A million dreams are keeping me awake I think of what the world could be A vision of the one I see A million dreams is all it's gonna take A million dreams for the world we're gonna make"
Do you find yourself singing along?
Most of the songs I knew before the VOICEš were movie theme songs and church music. I love music. I could tell you what movie I heard almost every song in or where I was when I heard a song for the first time. I could tell you one of my favorite dates was a concert that we prepared for by listening to all of the artists music for weeks before we went.
When we would take long car rides in the car as a child, I used to make up musical ditties about our trip or someone in the car. My whole world was set to music. I began singing at a young age. Do you hear what I hear was one of my first solos. I was dressed up as a bell and sashaying back and forth in bell-like motions throughout the entire song. Choirs, competitions, travel groups and many years later, I still would rather sing in harmony with someone that just about anything.
My first musical instrument other than the piano was a recorder. Whew, that was brutal. Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star never sounded so rough or so broken. However, 30 years late, I can still play itš
My great grandfather was in a barber shop quartet and left me his accordion. Then the flute came into my life in my masterās work. It is a beautiful instrument also, but Iām way out of practice. The one instrument that I have and never learned to play that I own is the guitar. Maybe, one day.
Iām hoping to have a music room in our new home. A place where I can go and play or sing to my heartās content. Maybe even recording features. My dad has asked me to record some music for him forever and Iāve not done it.

But it is in the back of my mind; and one day when the girls and I have that room dedicated to music, I can see us doing just that.
ALL of the girls sing, but none have picked up an instrument yet. Macy plays with harmonies a little, but I have to sing them for her firstš I canāt wait for the day when they hear the parts themselves and just branch off. They have gotten into the habit lately of listening to music on their movie player in the car and they have been singing along to the same CD for a couple months now. Weāve asked them if they want a new one, but they say, āNo, mom, we donātā know all the words yet.ā It is hilarious though how their minds work. They have their headphones on and the music turned up so loud we can hear it, and they sing at the top of their lungs as well. Thereās a mumble, mumbleā¦My PAPA WAS A GOOD OLE MANā¦.mumble mumbleā¦IN THE PALM OF HIS HANDSš I giggle every time.
Whatās a favorite song of yours?
Do you play or sing any instruments?
Iād love to hear from you!
